Lake depth training

Depth sessions run seasonally and are separate from the AIDA 2 Pool course.

Before you book

  • AIDA 1 entry requirements

    Students must be at least 18, or 16–17 with parent or guardian consent; swim 100 m non-stop; and complete the medical and liability forms.

  • Certification scope

    AIDA 2 Pool covers home study, the exam, confined-water performance and rescue requirements. Full AIDA 2 requires at least three separate open-water depth sessions and an additional £20 certification-upgrade fee.

  • Equipment and extra costs

    AIDA 2 includes mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt and weights, but excludes a wetsuit. Depth sessions also require a £15 cash lake-entry fee. Wetsuit hire is available separately.
